Information requested

Thank you for your request which I received on 16 February 2022.  You asked for:

1. Hard copies of documents 1-17 made available under FOI release 15192 1 July 2021 (Universal Basic Income); and
2. Hard copies of all documents and correspondence since 1 July 2021 accounting for the abandonment of a Universal Basic Income trial and the proposal for a Basic Income for Care Leavers in Wales pilot.

Our response

To point 1)

Requesting hard copies of information already provided does not fall under the Freedom of Information Act as a request. We are not obliged to, but on this occasion I can confirm we will be posting hard copies of documents 1-17 which were made available under FOI release 15192 1 July 2021 as requested. We aim to action this by 16 March 2022 (within 20 working days of receiving your request).

To point 2)

No decision was taken around the scope of any basic income pilot until February 2022. To that end, I can confirm that Welsh Government does not hold any recorded information of the type described. I am enclosing a link to the Social Justice Minister’s statement which provides the detail. This statement was published on 16 February. A hard copy of this statement will be provided to you as part of the hard copies being sent.
